Legal Disclaimer: Vinvel Motor Trading acts as a bridge between the Japanese Auction Houses and the international buyer. We do not inspect the cars physically ourselves. All information provided is based on the inspection report (Auction Sheet) generated by the respective auction house (USS, TAA, ARAI, etc.).
1. Understanding Grades
Japanese vehicles are graded based on exterior and interior condition. While highly reliable, these grades are subjective.
Grade S / 6 / 5
Brand New / Like New
The vehicle is generally less than 12 months old with under 10,000km. Virtually no scratches or dents.
Grade 4.5
Excellent Condition
Very clean. May have tiny, barely visible scratches that do not require repair. The industry standard for high-quality used imports.
Grade 4.0
Good Condition
Solid condition but may have noticeable scratches, dimples, or interior wear consistent with age. Normal for cars 5+ years old.
Grade R / RA
Repaired History
The car has had an accident history that was repaired. Vinvel generally advises checking these carefully before bidding.
2. Translation Accuracy
We provide English translations of Japanese auction sheets. While we strive for 100% accuracy, we cannot be held liable for:
- Translation nuances where a Japanese inspector's specific comment (e.g., "noise from engine") is interpreted subjectively.
- Defects not recorded on the sheet (e.g., electronic glitches in navigation systems).
3. Shipping & Logistics Damage
The Auction Grade reflects the condition at the time of auction. Vinvel is not liable for:
- Minor scratches or scuffs that occur during transport (on the ship or at the destination port).
- Battery depletion during long sea transit times.
- Missing accessories (SD cards, floor mats) that may be removed at the port by third parties (though rare, this is a risk in international shipping).
